Obituary of Stanley Wong
Stanley “Stonkey” Wong, 65, of Quincy, Massachusetts, passed away unexpectedly on May 27, 2024.
Born on April 24, 1959, in Boston, Massachusetts, Stanley was the beloved son of Po Ching Wong and the late Herman Wong. He grew up in Boston’s Chinatown before moving to Quincy, where he would spend the remainder of his life. Stanley was a devoted letter carrier for the United States Postal Service for 40 years, serving the Back Bay neighborhood, before his retirement in January 2024. His commitment to his job and the community he served was a testament to his character.
Stanley was a cherished son, brother, and uncle. He is survived by his loving mother, Po Ching Wong; his older brother, Carl Wong, and sister-in-law, Carol Wong, of Framingham, MA, and their children, Rachael, Russell, and Taylor; as well as his younger sister, Betty Wong, and brother-in-law, Richard Wong, of Natick, MA, and their children, Jessica and Christopher. Stanley was also a great-uncle to Rachael’s children with her husband, Kevin Ho, Gabriella and Jaylen, and to Jessica’s daughter with her husband, Hil Lee, Olivia. Stanley, a graduate of Northeastern University, was a generous, kind soul who was always willing to help others in need. He made numerous sacrifices to ensure the well-being and happiness of his family and friends, always putting their needs above his own.
In his leisure time, Stanley enjoyed exploring different cuisines and trying new restaurants, as well as playing the lottery. Additionally, he was an avid fan of all Boston sports teams.
Stanley’s unexpected passing leaves a void in the lives of those who knew and loved him.
Stanley’s visitation will be held at Wing Fook Funeral Home, 13 Gerard St, Boston, MA 02119, on Friday, May 31, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be on Saturday, June 1, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM. Cremation will be held at Forest Hills Crematory
