Obituary of Kim Woo Gee

On September 23, 2021, Kim Woo Gee of Malden, MA passed away at the age of one hundred and one. Kim was loved by her late husband, Paul Gee, her late son, Peter Woo, and late grandson, Eric Runge. Kim is survived by her daughters Jennie Woo and Julie Runge and her husband, Joushua Coon. Kim is also survived by her grandson Douglas Runge and his wife Emma Power, her granddaughter Stephanie Calla and her husband Christopher Calla, and her granddaughter Kristen Runge and her spouse Zachary Pike. Kim also leaves behind two great-grandchildren, Aurora and Logan Calla. Kim immigrated to the United States with her husband shortly after World War II. Kim and Paul worked hard to build their legacy, from opening a laundry mat to owning a popular restaurant for over 20 years. Kim truly lived the American Dream. Even after her success in America, Kim never forgot where she came from. Using the money she earned, she returned to her home village where she donated the money to build much needed infrastructure. Kim was always there to help anyone in need. In her later years, Kim enjoyed attending temple and playing Mahjong with friends. She liked to stay busy by cooking all day in the kitchen and talking walks around the lake. Kim was loved by all and will continue to be remembered by everyone she touched.
