My condolences to you and the family. Helena was like a sister to me. My kids know her as Aunt Helena. She has come with my sister Minnie to visit me in NJ many times over the years. I would always see her when I came to MA. My heart is very heavy and she will be truly missed!

If you knew Helena you had the fortune to share life in our short time on this planet with a true, loyal and generous friend. She had a big eager smile and always open for friendly conversation asking about this person or that.
I married into the family and quickly became a close friend sharing many cups of coffee and sharing fun stories at Lyla’s kitchen table.
I met Helena back in the early seventies and we have been friends ever since. Always acknowledging each other’s birthday as we are both born six years apart and six days apart in the middle of September.
We are both Virgos and shared similar characteristics and traits. However, I was never as prolific a cleaner as she was. My earliest memories of Helena was of her washing the side of her big yellow Oldsmobile 88. Her car was always impeccably clean.
Another early memory of Helena was of her washing her hair. Back in the day, Helena had long straight hair down to her waist, when she leaned to the side to wash her car, her hair would almost touch the ground. That’s how long it was.
I’ll always have fond memories of Helena. She was one of those people that you were always happy to see and spend time with. Marion and I will always miss our favorite cousin Helena.
